This gear is meant for real dogs—the kind of dogs that brave autumn without an argyle sweater. These are the dogs that ride shotgun on the way to the office, walk around the entire lake, retrieve the ball every time, nudge their running partners before the alarms go off, lunge off the dock without hesitation, search through the rubble until the job is done, pull the sled to the top of the hill...you get the idea. This gear is for the city and the country, the rain and the sun, the hot and the cold, the dark and the light. This gear is for you and your dog. Everyday.
Combining his love of dogs, gear, and making stuff, Ken Goldman founded Stunt Puppy in 2006. As a volunteer therapy team, Ken and his Golden Retriever, Bauer, began working with gear in hospitals. Disappointed by the choices available, Ken found necessity to truly be the mother of invention. He needed a shorter leash, which would “disappear” when necessary. And so, the Roundabout™ was born: a leash that wraps directly around a dog's collar and stays there until needed.
Sewing since the age of five (when his mother taught him how to quilt), Ken found new purpose for his skills and a solution to his long-desired acceptance by his brothers. What began as a basement project for Bauer quickly turned into a national brand.
Taking cues and inspiration from other categories including climbing, skiing and camping, Ken uses the best raw materials and construction techniques. Testing became a pillar of the brand, starting with neighborhood dogs and spreading to nationally competitive dock diving dogs, search and rescue dogs, law enforcement dogs, therapy dogs and Iditarod dogs. These select dogs have now become Team Stunt Puppy: they thoroughly test all our products and continually inspire new gear.
