Łééchąą Yázhí (Puppy) Evening Star Everyday Collar™

$32.00 USD

Description

Designed by Diné interdisciplinary artist Dakota Mace, the Łééchąą Yázhí (Puppy) collars feature motifs commonly found in Diné weavings: Spider Woman, the four sacred mountains, the four cardinal directions and the eight-pointed star. These motifs are set against cochineal-dyed cyanotypes, or contact prints, that Dakota takes of the land surrounding sacred places in the checkerboard Navajo Nation.

Dakota’s designs are part of Stunt Puppy’s Indigenous Design Series, which showcases the unique perspectives and artwork of Indigenous creators. These collars are dedicated to all of the beloved rez dogs in Indigenous communities — so we’re donating 15% of the sales to Red Lake Rosie’s Rescue in support of their mission to reduce the overpopulation, homelessness, disease and malnutrition of dogs on the Red Lake Reservation in Northern Minnesota.
